Credits Node installation on Windows x64

Credits software installation

MainNet - node version for public network

Test net - node version for tests and development of applications

Credits software installation

Step 1 Download and install OpenJDK and JavaFX Windows SDK

1.1 Download OpenJDK

1.2 Install downloaded package

1.3 Download JavaFX Windows SDK

1.4 Extract archived files to disk C:\

Step 2 Download Node client for TestNet or MainNet

TestNet for Windows

Step 3 Run installation file as Administrator

After downloading the software(mainnet 4.2.x.x), you’ll need to run it as Administrator. Otherwise, OS will request administrator rights once the installation file starts. Figures below illustrate downloaded file:

Click “More info”

Click “Run anyway”

Upon its start it opens a window with a default installation path: “C:\CREDITS”:

Step 4 Installation with default settings

During the installation a user will be offered to configure the node:

If there’s no need to change any settings(installation with default settings), just close the window and installation will finish.

After the start, the connection will be configured automatically. You can run Credits software from desktop as on the figure below:

Step 5 Generation of Encryption Keys

Upon node’s first start(client.exe), user will be offered to generate new node’s public key(press “g”) or quit(press “q”) as it’s illustrated on the figure below:

When user selects first option (encryption of a private key)

User enters password to generate keys and press “Enter”:

When user selects second option (without encryption of a private key)

Keys are generated without entering the password.

Installation with extended setting

During the installation a user will be offered to configure the node:

Configuration window is split in 3 sections:

  •         Start server (See figure below)
  •         User selects IP address and port of the start server. The port is set by default if not specified

  •         List (See figure below). When selecting this option, an additional area is displayed where you can specify list of network IP addresses. The list can saved to a file and uploaded from it.

Here you specify node operation mode: as a “node” or as a “router”.

Server ip - starting server IP address

Server port - starting server port

Input port - node incoming port

Api executor port - executor port

Use IPv6 - enable the use of IPv6 protocol

Extending - shows extended settings

Public ip - node public IP

Public port - node public port

Api port - API public port

Executor port - executor public port

Upon its start the client will attempt to connect to the network.

You can see successful connection on the figure:

Configuring Credits software after installation
